About the Event
What it's all about?:
The Woodend Neighbourhood House Reading Room is a welcoming book club for young adults who love reading and enjoy chatting about books in good company.
This is an informal and relaxed group where we’ll explore a wide range of stories and ideas, with a new theme to inspire our reading each month.
In April, we’ll celebrate Earth Day with a nature theme, starting with Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer as our book of the month.
Later in the term, we’ll dive into classics written by women in May and explore queer literature in June.
Everyone is encouraged to suggest and share books they’d love to read for each theme, making the Reading Room a collaborative and creative space.
Who will be leading the session?:
The sessions will be led by Louise, an enthusiastic reader with a background in literature. Louise enjoys reading across many genres, with a special love for gothic literature, poetry and magical realism. She’s excited to create a relaxed space for lively conversations and shared discoveries.
Term 2 2026 Information:
The Woodend Neighbourhood House Reading Room will meet on the fourth Friday of each month at 5pm in the Shirley Perrott Lounge.
Dates for Term 2 are:
Friday 24 April
