About the Event
What's it all about?
Woodend Neighbourhood House invites local carers to a Terrarium Workshop, in recognition of Carer's Week 2024. This workshop has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Carers Victoria.
Whether you're a full-time caregiver or just starting out on your caregiving journey, this workshop is a great opportunity to meet others who understand the joys and challenges of unpaid caring for loved ones. Each participant will create their very own jar terrarium to take home.
Terrariums are a super cool, tactile way to engage with nature on a small scale. After looking at a few examples and discussing what terrariums are and how they work, we will choose a glass container and a few succulents from our collection. To thrive in the long run, plants will need a mixture of things in their little habitat - rocks, charcoal, moss - added in a certain order. The plant itself and any creative addition (animals/crystals/bones/etc) go in last.
Who will be leading the session?
Creative Me is a mobile art “un-school” working in the Macedon Ranges and beyond, our clients ranging from preschoolers to seniors. We run joyful creative workshops focused on process and the pleasure of making. We aim to inspire everyone to embrace their inner artist and grow in creative confidence.
Additional Information
The Terrarium Workshop will run between 10.30am - 12noon on Thursday 17th October. It is free for unpaid carers.
