About the Event
What's it all about?
In Australia, a stroke occurs every 19 minutes. In 2020, more than 27,000 Australians, of all ages, experienced stroke for the first time... But the good news is that it doesn’t need to be this way. More than 80 percent of strokes can be prevented.
The Woodend Neighbourhood House is proud to be hosting a StrokeFoundation StrokeSafe Speaker on Tuesday 22nd August at 11am.
StrokeSafe Speakers are trained in public speaking and experienced in delivering lifesaving messages about stroke.
Many have either had a stroke themselves or are close to someone who has, so while they will present common information about stroke and its prevention, they will also draw on their own personal experiences so every talk is different – and very powerful.
Don’t miss out on your chance to learn how you could help save the life of a friend, family member or colleague and how you can reduce your own stroke risk!
Although there is no cost to attend this session, bookings are preferred via our website, popping into the Woodend Neighbourhood House or calling 5427 1845 between 9am - 3pm.
