About the Event
What's it all about?
Resonance String Orchestra - inspiring regional communities to make great music! We are a group of school aged students and adult musicians who get together to learn incredible string orchestra repertoire to a high standard.
What do we cover?
Each year, the orchestra presents a major public concert as well as a number of smaller performances and projects, including flashmobs, and community outreach projects in schools and local festivals. We play a wide variety of musical styles in our repertoire, including everything from baroque repertoire to music by contemporary Australian composers, including compositions written for Resonance by composer-in-residence and Co-Artistic Director Emma Wade!
Who will be teaching?
Tuition is provided by three permanent professional musician-educators, Heather Cummins (violin), Sam Goble (cello) and Emma Wade (violin/viola), with input from our Artistic Patron, the acclaimed cellist Zoe Knighton and an array of visiting artists. Also on the Resonance tutor team are Sarina Walter (viola) and Lizzy Welsh (violin/Baroque violin). See our tutor profiles here.
