About the Event
What's it all about?
Being mindful helps us to engage in life as it happens, rather than being tangled up in the past or worrying about the future.
During this two-hour workshop, we will take an in-depth look at relaxation, mindful meditation, the STOP technique, managing emotions, positive affirmations and the importance of self care.
Who will be teaching?
Mary Chandler's initial training was a primary school teacher. She studied psychology and became a registered psychologist. Mary taught ESL (English as a Second Language) to adults part time for many years and is now retired.
Mary has pratised yoga for most of her adult life and incorporates techniques learnt from her yoga into her mindfulnes and meditation courses. She utilises Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness based therapy that applies techniques from classical meditation to the management of anxiety and stress. Mary taught Mindfulness and Meditation at Wonga Park Community College for ten years prior to relocating to the Macedon Ranges.
