About the Event
What's it all about?
Join us for this practical and creative leatherworking workshop where you'll make your very own personalised suede leather belt pouch. Perfect for carrying your phone, wallet, tools, or other essentials, these pouches measure approximately 14cm x 17cm and feature a fold-over top panel with a magnetic closure to keep everything secure.
During the workshop, you’ll design and decorate your pouch using stamping and tooling techniques to create a unique piece that is then antiqued for a beautiful finish. These belt pouches are ideal for horse riders, hikers, tradies, or anyone who prefers a pouch over a bag.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn about:
Different leather types
Template making
Leather tooling and stamping
The antiquing process
Dyeing and sealing
Edge bevelling
Saddle stitching
Using a range of leatherworking tools
All materials and tools are provided.
Who will be leading the class?
Wendy Tonkin is a qualified leatherworker with around eight years of experience. Based in Williamstown, Wendy recently launched her own leatherwork teaching business. She is passionate about empowering people to build confidence and knowledge through hands-on, supportive, and fun learning experiences in community settings.
