Homemade Cards for Seniors Workshop - Christmas Cards (Term 4 2026)

What's it all about?

At the Woodend Neighbourhood House, we love bringing people together through creative community projects.

This October, we're getting ready for Christmas and making Christmas cards for aged care residents and Meals on Wheels recipients. By getting an early start, we can help ensure that seniors receive a thoughtful, personal Christmas message during the festive season.

Join us for our Christmas Handmade Cards for Seniors Workshop and enjoy a relaxed, creative session while making a meaningful contribution to the community.

The workshop will be led by Susan, a Woodend local with a passion for card making. She will provide inspiration, design ideas and guidance as you create handmade Christmas cards that will be donated to someone who may really appreciate a little extra kindness at Christmas.

This beginner-friendly session will focus on creating handmade Christmas cards and is open to everyone. Whether you're an experienced card maker or have never made a card before, we'd love you to come along and help us get a head start on our Christmas card collection.

We have plenty of materials and creative supplies available, so you're welcome to simply come along and use what we have. If you'd like to add a personal touch, you're also welcome to bring along any favourite supplies from home, such as scissors, glue, paper craft materials, decorative papers, stamps, old greeting cards (for repurposing), or other creative embellishments.

Please note that all cards created during this workshop will be donated to the Homemade Cards for Seniors initiative and are not intended to be taken home. Each card should include a Christmas or seasonal sentiment inside - either handwritten or stamped - and be signed by the person who created it.

We are also seeking donations of card-making materials. If you have Christmas-themed supplies or other card-making materials you no longer use and would like to contribute, please contact the Woodend Neighbourhood House.
