About the Event

What's it all about?

Happy Healthy Minds Meditation is aimed at school aged children between the ages of 5 to 11 years.

The four week course is filled with fun ways of using meditation techniques that help develop attention whilst encouraging kindness, compassion, and self-knowledge. Mindful awareness promotes physical and mental well being as well as character and ethical development.

Many people, including children, find that meditation just makes them happier.

Parents and younger siblings are encouraged and most welcome to attend along with their child/children.

Who will be teaching?

Donna McMahon will be teaching this four week meditation class for children. Donna has been running Children's Meditation sessions for the last  7 years (minus covid ) and is very passionate about empowering children with their own tools that can help them deal with life's ups and downs in a fun and very child friendly way.

Example of Your Child’s Meditation Experience

Your child will bring themselves to a room full of peace and harmony, where their  heartbeat slows and their breathe lengthens.  Children in the world today are busy. Continually stimulated through an array of  activities, their “quiet time” is now “screen time”.  Calming their nervous system and easing their mind can be challenging. They take  deep breathes, todays, yesterdays and tomorrows events all fade away, they are aware  of the right now.  Sitting, or lying comfortably with their head on a pillow, the silence is deafening at  the beginning.   The air is warm, they listen and participate in the guided meditation focusing on the  given topic for the experience.   Their attention span increases allowing the practice to develop in their every day,  their self- awareness heightens, they see life from a different perspective, this carries  through to their everyday life.  The emotional health benefits are immense with each session, allowing calmness and  peace to resonate with them through their everyday life.
