About the Event
School-aged children in prep to grade 6 are invited to join our Fungi Town Workshop.
The Fungi Town Workshop will be facilitated by Kathy Holowko, a highly regarded sculpter and fine artist. During the session, children will explore the function of fungi and learn about the important role fungi have in the restoration of forests after storms.
The 5 hour workshop will include:
- Spore Print Demonstration
- The Science of Identification
- Mycelium and Fungi Drawing
- Book Making - focused on the children's experience during the storms and/or mushrooms
- Mushroom Sculptures
The Fungi Town Workshop will run for 5 hours with morning and afternoon tea provided. Please bring your own lunch. Please advise of any dietary requirements in the 'Additional Info' box when booking.
This activity is supported through funding from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in support of Storm Recovery and run in conjunction with Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
