About the Event

What it is all about?

Equilibrium Pilates offers more than ‘just another exercise class’. The benefits of Pilates are well known from the improvement of breath, spinal mobility, core strength, balance and overall health and wellbeing.

'Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit' – Joseph Pilates

With capped class sizes and a classically trained instructor, classes are tailored to meet the needs of all class participants be they beginners or more experienced movers. Each week we will offer a range of exercises covering movement throughout the entire body. Exercises can be progressed or regressed depending on the needs of the individual. Clients always report that they feel more mobile free and energised after a session.

What will we cover?

Classes will include instruction and practice in the 6 key Pilates principles: Breath; Axial elongation and core control; Spine articulation; Organisation of the head, neck and shoulders; Weightbearing of the extremities and Movement integration. Sounds complicated?! These principles are explained with each exercise and then in a way that you can take back into your movement during daily life. It is our aim to teach you to move well all of the time, not just during a class.

'If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.' – Joseph Pilates

Who will be teaching?

Kirsty Moody is a Polestar trained and certified clinical Pilates instructor in both mat and studio/rehab repertoire. Coming to Pilates through injury herself, Kirsty has a keen understanding of how Pilates can be of benefit to recover from injury and also strengthen and keep the body moving. She is a Mentor in Training with Polestar International and teaches throughout the Macedon Ranges and also from her home studio in Romsey.

Kirsty has a passion for Pilates and is continually adding to her skills through ongoing training both in Pilates and Breathwork.

Term 2 2023 Information

Classes run from 8.15am – 9.15am on Wednesdays. In term 2, our last session will be Wednesday 14th June and we will return for Term 3 on Wednesday 12th July. Although we will be stopping for school holidays at the end of term 2, we don't always – it depends on client requests! You will need to provide your own mat, foam roller and resistance band (although these can be borrowed for the first session to see if Pilates is right for you).

You do not need to commit for a full term. Casual sessions can be purchased at $20.00 per session or a block of 5 is $90.00. Block sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice should you be unable to make a class.

Please contact Kirsty directly via info@equilibriumpilates.com.au for more information and to book.

Please note: bookings must be made in advance of class as a ‘client information form’ must be completed prior to commencing classes.

'In ten sessions you'll feel the difference, in twenty you'll see the difference, and in thirty you'll have a whole new body' – Joseph Pilates

We look forward to sharing your Pilates journey with you.
