About the Event
What's it all about?
Drawing for Beginners is aimed at complete beginners, as well as artists with experience in other mediums looking to broaden their drawing skills and knowledge.
Each week, under the expect guidance of our tutor Marilyn, participants will create a landscape, portrait/people, still life or floral drawing while developing their understanding of composition, tonal value, perspective and colour. This class will also cover one-, two- and three- point perspective, colour and abstract art.
Suggested materials to bring along for the class:
- drawing paper or pad
- pencils (2H, HB, 4B and 8B)
- pencil sharpener
- soft eraser
- coloured pencils
- malleable rubber
- ruler
- paper stump

Who will be teaching?
Marilyn is a local artist with a lifetime of experience in art using porcelain, glass, acrylics, pencils, charcoal, watercolour, oils and pens.
Term 1 2024 Information:
This four-week course will run on Thursday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm between 28th February and 20th March 2024. The cost for the four week course is $80 (4 x 2 hour session at $20 each).
If you wish to join the class after the term has begun, our booking system will allow you to book for the remaining classes - assuming there is space.
