About the Event
What's it all about?
Children in Prep to Grade 6 are invited to join Penelope and celebrate the season with a giant starburst exploding with colour, pattern and sparkle!
Young artists will create and layer cardboard star shapes, experimenting with painting, stencillings and stamping to build a wonderfully bold and textured design.
With a touch of shimmer added here and there, these spectacular creations will be ready to brighten any space and shine all season long.
All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary!
Who will be leading the session?
Local artist/educator Penelope Cato is eager to share her experience and knowledge with budding young artists. Penelope has an abiding interest in nature, particularly plant life and a love for patterning and Japanese design.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Penelope has a background in design across disciplines and creates imaginative works with aesthetic appeal and subtle layers of meaning.
Her experience directing, inspiring and engaging primary students together with her passion for art make her an asset to our junior artistic community.
