About the Event
What's it all about?
Preschoolers (aged 2-5) are invited to join a fun, festive workshop led by local artist Penelope Cato, where they’ll create and decorate their own freestanding cardboard Christmas tree.
Participants will get hands-on with techniques like tape resist, acrylic painting, and collage to personalize their trees. This workshop is ideal for preschoolers who are assisted by a parent or carer.
At the end, each child will take home their unique cardboard Christmas tree.
Who will be leading the session?
Local artist/educator, Penelope Cato is eager to share her experience and knowledge with budding young artists. Penelope has an abiding interest in nature, particularly plant life and a love for patterning and Japanese design.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Penelope has a background in design across disciplines and creates imaginative works with aesthetic appeal and subtle layers of meaning.
Her experience directing, inspiring and engaging primary students together with her passion for art make her an asset to our junior artistic community.
