About the Event

This course is aimed at those recovering from storm damage who wish to learn how to safely use a chainsaw. It is designed to develop or increase skills in operating chainsaws safely and efficiently in a variety of common situations. This course does not cover tree falling. 

Learners completing this course may find employment as chainsaw operators in Forestry, arboriculture, horticulture and local councils. 

There is a maximum of 6 places per workshop. Those interested in attending must complete the Expression of Interest Form and we will confirm your place. 

The three day course will run on a number of dates:

  • 9, 16, 17 July (Day 1 -Lancefield Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
  • 13, 14, 15 July (Day 1 - Woodend Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
  • 23, 30, 31 July (Day 1 - Woodend Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
  • 27, 28, 29 July (Day 1 - Lancefield Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
  • 20, 27, 28 August (Day 1 - Woodend Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property
  • 24, 25, 26 August (Day 1 - Woodend Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property [this course is for people who identify as female])
  • 3, 10, 11 September (Day 1 - Lancefield Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
  • 7, 8, 9 September (Day 1 - Woodend Neighbourhood House, Days 2 & 3 - Carlsruhe private property)
