About the Event
What's it all about?
Come and learn the basic movements of this beautiful and feminine ancient dance. The music and graceful steps will transport you to the Land of the Pharaohs, where Anita will guide you through hip circles, hip flicks, shimmies, veil techniques and much more.
Who will be teaching?
Anita has been teaching and performing Classical Egyptian Dance for 25 years. She has performed professionally as a soloist and alongside her students at community events.
Term 3 2026 Information
Belly Dancing for Beginners will run for 8 weeks between Thursday 30th July 2026 and Thursday 17th September 2026.
The class runs between 6.30pm - 7.30pm and the cost for the 8 week term is $120 (8 x $15). If you wish to join the class after the term has begun, our booking system will offer a pro-rata price for the remaining classes - assuming there is space.
A single class ticket can be booked once per person for $15 to trial the class before committing to the full term.
Classes are held in the Function Room of the Woodend Neighbourhood House. Access is via the red front door at 47 Forest Street, Woodend.
Belly Dancing for Beginners is for those aged 18+. Participants are advised to wear loose clothing and flat comfy shoes.
Please note the workshop requires a minimum of 6 paid participants to go ahead. If this minimum number is not reached, a full refund will be provided. The workshop will have a maximum of 14 participants.
