Become a Reverse Advent Calendar Donor

Reverse Advent Calendar is an initiative that empowers members of the community to come together to collect non-perishable food, toiletries and Christmas treats to be donated to people within our own community who are living with food insecurity.

A Reverse Advent Calendar flips the idea of a traditional Advent calendar. Instead of opening a window each day in the lead up to Christmas and getting a small chocolate, a Reverse Advent Calendar takes the focus off receiving and encourages participants to focus on giving instead.

For 20 days in the lead up to Christmas, families, individuals, community groups, schools and businesses place one item of non-perishable food or toiletries into their box each day. When the box is full it is then donated to the Woodend Neighbourhood House to be distributed to people struggling with food insecurity.

• Register your Interest to become a Reverse Advent Calendar Donor
• When the boxes arrive in Woodend, we will contact you to arrange pick up from the Woodend Neighbourhood House (47 Forest Street, Woodend)
• Fill your box with food, toiletries and christmas treats – one item every day for 20 days
• Return your filled box to the Woodend Neighbourhood House by Friday 15 December 2023 and it will be given to people in need this Christmas time.
