About the Event

What's it all about?

School-aged children in prep to grade 6 are invited to make their very own felt Banner! It’s a fun and colourful way of expressing ourselves, very tactile and versatile - it can be super simple or very detailed.

We will start by choosing a favourite thing of ours - could be an animal, a team, a food (mine is ice cream, can you tell?) and designing on paper how our banner will look. We will then choose colours and cut and glue shapes to create our image, before finishing off our creation with ribbons and pompoms.

This workshop promotes autonomous decision making, fine motor skills, cognitive processing and creative confidence.

Children will take home their finished banner at the end of the session.

Who will be leading the session?

Creative Me is a mobile art “un-school” working in the Macedon Ranges and beyond, our clients ranging from preschoolers to seniors. We run joyful creative workshops focused on process and the pleasure of making. We aim to inspire everyone to embrace their inner artist and grow in creative confidence.
