About the Event
What it is all about?
Join Chitra for a special session dedicated to exploring the nitty gritty of alignment and form in classic yoga asanas (postures).
In this class, you will take the time to break down each pose, understand its correct alignment, and learn how to adjust your practice to suit your body safely and effectively. This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your understanding of yoga fundamentals, build confidence in your practice, and prevent injury, all under the expert guidance of an experienced teacher in a supportive and welcoming environment.
This workshop is accessible to everybody and open to beginners and seasoned Yoga practitioners of all abilities.

Who will be teaching?
Chitra Stern has been teaching Yoga since 1989, in Australia, India and the USA. She has trained with the Gita School of Yoga in Melbourne and with Integral Yoga in the USA, and is certified to teach Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Pre-natal/post partum Integral Yoga Hatha classes. She has also completed Integral Yoga Stress Management Teacher Training and has trained with Amy Weintraub, completing level 1 and 2 Yoga for Depression teacher trainings. Chitra is also a Level 1 Integral Yoga teacher trainer. Her focus in Yoga is on opening to our natural inner peace, freedom and joy by letting go of competition, accepting and enjoying ourselves as we are, being present in the moment and having fun!
Term 4 2025 Information
"Asana, Alignment and Form" is part of the Sunday Yoga Workshop Series with Chitra.
The workshop will take place on Sunday 16th November between 10am and 11am.
The cost for the workshop is $20.
Participants are also welcome to attend Relax and Renew with Restorative Yoga, which is scheduled between 11.30am - 12.30pm on the same day. If attending this later session, participants are invited to bring a vegetarian plate for a shared lunch after the workshop, if desired.
The workshop will be held in person at the Woodend Neighbourhood House with a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 12 participants.
Attending face-to-face classes: Please aim to arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and relax.
Please bring your own Yoga mat, blanket and cushion/bolster and any other props you have and like to use. If you do not have a Yoga mat, bring a blanket and large towel.
