About the Event
What's it all about?
Children in Prep to Grade 4 are invited to join Penelope for some creative fun, exploring a variety of themes, mediums and techniques.
In Term 4, students will dive into a range of projects while expanding their understanding of the creative process. They’ll experiment with mono-printing inspired by the Impressionist approach, in connection with the current NGV exhibition in Melbourne, as well as explore basic 3D modelling and watercolour techniques.
Students will also focus on seasonal crafts, celebrating Halloween and Christmas.
All materials are supplied.
Who will be teaching?
Penelope is a Trentham-based artist with a deep love of nature, particularly plant life, and a passion for patterning and Japanese design. She often combines traditional art techniques with digital technologies to create works with rich layers of meaning and high aesthetic appeal.
Born into a family of artists, Penelope has been immersed in visual culture throughout her schooling and tertiary studies. She studied graphic design at Monash University and textile design at RMIT University. She has lectured in interior design at Holmesglen Institute and continues to share her expertise, most recently guiding primary school students in multimedia art projects.
