Relax, recharge and renew with Yoga!
In this dedicated beginners Yoga course, you will learn and practice a variety of gentle Yoga techniques designed to help us de-stress, bring balance and good health to all our bodily systems and bring peace and calm to the mind.
Classes are in the Integral Yoga style – a very versatile approach to Yoga that is accessible to everybody and focuses on letting go of competition and ensuring that everyone can feel comfortable to practice in a way that honours their body and suits their personal needs.
Classes are suitable for beginners of all levels of fitness, and students returning to Yoga after a break, or students wanting an in depth review of the foundations of safe and effective practice. Modifications (either more gentle or more physically challenging) will be offered as required.

Chitra will offer a wide range of options for how to practice each technique, encouraging everyone to be in the moment, to honour their own bodies and have fun!

Note: Pregnant women are welcome in the beginners course but recommended to attend the prenatal class if possible.
Preparation for class:
Wear comfortable clothes for exercise and aim not to eat for a couple of hours prior to class. If you need to eat, have a light snack.
Chitra Stern has been teaching Yoga since 1989, in Australia, India and the USA. She has trained with the Gita School of Yoga in Melbourne and with Integral Yoga in the USA, and is certified to teach Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Pre-natal/post partum Integral Yoga Hatha classes. She has also completed Integral Yoga Stress Management Teacher Training and has trained with Amy Weintraub, completing level 1 and 2 Yoga for Depression teacher trainings. Chitra is also a Level 1 Integral Yoga teacher trainer and co-director of the Integral Yoga Centre of Melbourne. Her focus in Yoga is on opening to our natural inner peace, freedom and joy by letting go of competition, accepting and enjoying ourselves as we are, being present in the moment and having fun!
