Made by locals, shared by locals.
Working to make Woodend plastic bag free.

Woodend Community Bags are taking the town by storm in a positive step toward making Woodend plastic bag free.

Volunteers from all walks of life are getting together at the Woodend Neighbourhood House to make reusable Woodend Community Bags- Boomerang Bags from recycled materials.

There are many ways to be involved and sewing skills aren’t necessary!

Over a cuppa, cake, a chat and a giggle, you can learn how to sew, cut, pin, bundle, and iron... and make some lovely friends.

Where should people donate materials?

Materials can be dropped off at the Woodend Neighbourhood House between 9.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday in term time.

How can I get involved?

Sewing bees take place weekly at the Woodend Neighbourhood House in the Undercroft, 9.30am-12.30pm on Thursdays. Drop-in at any time – no sewing skills required!
