What it is all about?ragrugt3

Rag rugs have been around for centuries. They’re an ideal use of up-cycled fabric, and they’re so sturdy that they can last a really long time.

Come along and learn how to make your own rug and get started on your latest craft addiction.

If you’ve been to a previous class and would like to come back for a refresher and finish your rug Vicki would love to see you.

What will we cover?

  • Different shapes of rugs
  • Preparing your fabric strips
  • Cutting your fabric
  • Assembling the rug

What do I need to bring?

  • Your choice of fabrics or a single doona cover to cut up – chose a colour or colours that you’d like for your rug.  The Woodend Op shops often have doona covers for sale
  • A No. 9 or 10 crochet hook (available from loose change bargains shop $4.95 for a set)
  • Your lunch – there’s a fridge and microwave at the House or pop our to a local café.

Who will be teaching?

VickiVicki is your teacher.  She’s got loads of craft experience and has been a volunteer and a tutor with the House for a number of years. She’s a wonderful teacher and full of energy.
