NB There are two classes on offer on a Tuesday, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. These classes take place at Woodend Men’s Shed. Afternoon Classes can be found here
Please register your interest for wood turning in term 2. Brian Falkenberg runs the course, who has over 10 years’ experience in wood turning. Classes are on Tuesday afternoons or evenings for 8 weeks and are held at Woodend Men’s Shed. $220 all equipment and materials supplied.
Can you use a lathe and wood-turning tools? If you are an adult and you can’t but would like to learn, this might be the course for you. Once you have learnt the basics you will then experience the pleasure and satisfaction of creating objects such as tool handles, bowls, vases and other items to make and perhaps give as gifts.
Just a note pad and a pen.
Brian Falkenberg, a member of the Woodend Men’s Shed, will be your experienced teacher. Brian undertook a two-year apprenticeship with a professional turner and has been producing wood turned articles for 12 years. He also runs classes at his home in Woodend. He loves sharing his skills and encouraging others to enjoy learning this craft and creating fine objects.
Brian’s work has been exhibited at the Stoneycreek Gallery in Daylesford; the Treehouse Gallery in Birregurra and at “Artisans at the Mill” in Woodend.
