What’s it all about?WNH-201

John York welcomes adult beginners through to experienced painters in this class of painting in acrylics or watercolours. He aims to enthuse, educate and inspire students. Each student will be able to pursue the style and subject matter of his or her choice in an enjoyable, supportive and creative atmosphere.

What will we cover?

The course covers basic theory of colours, perspective, composition, creating atmosphere in your paintings and techniques for special effects. Your entry level will be taken into account and classes are structured to develop your unique strengths as an artist. There will be demonstrations of techniques alongside close individual supervision and advice at all stages of the course.

John York is a local, award-winning artist whose approach is to encourage his students to develop their own individual styles. John has won numerous awards at local art shows and elsewhere for his work and is known for his ability to produce work in many styles and on a large variety of subjects. Woodend, and the Macedon Ranges in general, has a large number of accomplished artists and John York is a notable member of this flourishing art scene.
