About the Event

What's it all about?

Join Penelope for a creative workshop where you’ll learn the art of zentangle patterning and transform an ordinary pillowcase into something truly special.

Children will be guided through simple yet beautiful zentangle techniques, before choosing to decorate either a butterfly or fish design on their very own pillowcase. Using vibrant fabric markers, each participant will create unique patterns and details to bring their chosen design to life.

By the end of the session, every child will have a personalised “dream pillow” to take home – a practical keepsake that’s both creative and comforting for their bed.

Who will be leading the session?

Local artist/educator Penelope Cato is eager to share her experience and knowledge with budding young artists. Penelope has an abiding interest in nature, particularly plant life and a love for patterning and Japanese design.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Penelope has a background in design across disciplines and creates imaginative works with aesthetic appeal and subtle layers of meaning.

Her experience directing, inspiring and engaging primary students together with her passion for art make her an asset to our junior artistic community.

Visit Penelope's website or find her on the socials @penelope.cato
