  • Self Expression through Art
    Tuesday, 23 July  2019 - Tuesday, 27 August  2019
    6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

What’s it all about?

This 6-week course is for adults with a longing to tap into a deeper, fuller possibility for living wholeheartedly with greater life purpose. Through the exploration of ideas and psychological theories, poetry and artmaking, each week we enter into a soulful space of personal enquiry through the art materials offered. No art experience is necessary.

What to bring?

An open mind and a sense of curiosity.

What we will cover?

Each week we will explore a different art medium and inquiry theme-

  • Week 1: The sensuality of clay and what it means to have Eros toward the world.
  • Week 2: Ecopsychology and the notion of connectedness- exploring with pastel drawing your inner landscape and what needs safeguarding.
  • Week 3: The breath as a metaphor for beginnings and endings- artmaking and the ‘small deaths’ on the outbreath, before new potential arises.
  • Week 4: Allow the soulful poetry of David Whyte wash over you as we explore watercolour and it’s subtleties.
  • Week 5: Create an archetypal visual map- new territory you may like to begin ‘living into’
  • Week 6: Not unlike a sculptor, give shape and form to your expression using any combination of arts; storytelling, painting, music and movement, to find your own unique creative expression, aesthetic and direction forward.
