Relax, recharge and renew with Yoga!
Our Neighbourhood House Yoga teacher Chitra is offering live Yoga classes online – her living room to yours!
Learn and practice a variety of Yoga techniques designed to help us de-stress, bring balance and good health to all our bodily systems and bring peace and calm to the mind.
Classes are in the Integral Yoga style – a very versatile approach to Yoga that is accessible to everybody and focuses on letting go of competition and ensuring that everyone can feel comfortable to practice in a way that honours their body and suites their personal needs.
Chitra will offer a wide range of options for how to practice each technique, encouraging everyone to be in the moment, to honour their own bodies and have fun!
Other yoga courses:
Foundations of Yoga (Tuesdays, 9.30-11am May 5 – June 2)
Wednesdays, 9.30-11am (April 22 – May 20, and assuming we are still unable to meet face-to-face, a second course running May 27 – June 24)
CONTINUING YOGA – 5 week course:
These are classes for continuing Yoga students who have attended classes with Chitra. Students attending classes in term 1 will be given priority.
Classes will include Yoga asana (postures), Yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation, ending with peace chants where we can offer the benefits of our practice out into the world.
To build on our understanding and experience of how the teachings of Yoga beyond the physical practices can help us feel more easeful, peaceful and connected, Chitra will also be sending a weekly email over viewing an aspect of Yoga philology or yogic lifestyle that you may want to explore and there will be optional time after class for a short discussion.
Classes will be interactive – you will have the option to be seen and heard by Chitra and other participants via video (or not if you prefer) and Chitra will be able to address issues and questions during the class.
Class size will be limited to 12 students so we can make the best use of the interactive aspect. Because the class size is limited, and to allow us to develop our practice over the term, Continuing Yoga will run as a course (i.e. casual attendance will not be possible). “Doors” will open at 9.15 if you want to arrive early for a chat, and if you miss a class, the recording will be available for the rest of that week.
Cost: $90 / $75 concession (Optional attendance at additional online Hatha Yoga classes on Wednesday nights (Multi-level Hatha Yoga) and/or Saturday mornings (Gentle Hatha Yoga) in included in your Continuing Yoga course fee – details and links to these classes will be provided with your booking)
Preparation for class:
Wear comfortable clothes for exercise and aim not to eat for a couple of hours prior to class. If you need to eat, have a light snack.
