After a bit of a break over the Summer months we are back and open for business on Thursday 4th April at the Woodend RSL.
First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to Lorraine Masterman who has been the amazing chef behind our Community Lunch since it first started back in 2015. In her capable hands, the lunch was taken from a simple bowl of soup for a few locals at the House, to a restaurant quality two-course lunch for 100 people at the Woodend RSL. Lorraine is now standing down as our chef and we want to thank her for her dedication, creativity and warmth that shone from every plate of food she served. Every chef is supported by a team of people and we would also like to say a special thank you to Susan Carol for her contribution at our lunches. Susan is also hanging up her apron after many years of volunteering. Thank you ladies and we look forward to serving you lunch in the future.
So who is our new chef? We are very excited to announce that the wonderful Jane Niall will be joining us in 2019. Jane runs her own highly successful catering business, as well as managing T.O.M.S. Organic Meats with her husband Tom Niall. We are so excited to welcome Jane to the Community Lunch team and can’t wait to get busy in the kitchen with her.
Big thanks must also go to Remy and Bonnie at The Fox In The Chamber who are supporting Community Lunch by providing us with their delicious house baked focaccia. What an amazing and generous community we have in Woodend!
If you would like to do your bit to support Community Lunch, we are always delighted to receive produce donations. If you have a glut in your garden and need a home for any fruit or vegetables please drop them into the House and we will put them to good use in this month’s menu.
To book your spot at the lunch, please give us a call on 5427 1845 or stop by the House.
