Beginners and Next Steps classes with Valerie  

Beginners French – This fun, structured French class is for the absolute beginner who’d like to start right at the beginning

Beginners Step 2 - Continue your learning with step 2.

 

Next Steps: - Designed for those with some French knowledge.  You will learn verb tenses and will read and answer questions from basic text from book, understand simple texts and have fun!

Note: text book extra cost of $28

 

French Verbs for Teens with Valerie

French verbs can be a challenge.

In this class you will learn and go over basic and more complicated verb tenses and irregular verbs.

Verbs 101 will enhance the learning done in school and give students an edge when its time for tests and exams. 

 

German-  Returning in Term 2 2013

This class will suit those with prior knowledge of the language.

Bruce taught Dutch and German at University of Melbourne for 31 years prior to retirement.

Come and work on unfinished or unstarted sewing projects.

Come for an hour or several!

Painting with acrylics - with John York

Learn how to create vibrant paintings of landscapes, seascapes, still life and cityscapes using simple rules of composition.

Achieve a practical understanding of perspective, tonal contrast and colour.

Learn how to choose materials, including paints, modifying media, support materials, brushes, palette knives and other tools for modern acrylic paint.

Learn techniques to give your paintings a more professional touch.Develop your own style in a supportive, creative atmosphere.

This course is suitable for beginners and artists experienced in other media wishing to try acrylics for the first time.

Painting with watercolours - with John York

Learn how to create vibrant paintings of landscapes, seascapes, still life and cityscapes using simple rules of composition and a free flowing technique. You will achieve a practical understanding of perspective, tonal contrast and colour. You will learn different techniques for applying water colours to paper to achieve a professional look to your paintings.

You will learn how to correct your mistakes by understanding what makes a great painting work. You will develop your own style at your own pace in a supportive and vreative atmosphere. This course is for beginners or those with some experience of water colours or other medias who wish to further develop their skills.

Silver Casting

 Casting is a very simple process that does not require advanced jewellery skills or a vast array of tools. In this course a range of materiuals such as manmade and organic objects, wood,wax and plastics will be used to make models for casting.

Participants will gain an understanding of the casting process although actual casting will be outsourced. Silver castings will be transformed into jewellery using basic techniques such as saw piercing, soldering, drilling, filing and finishing.

You will leave the course with a finished piece of silver jewellery and have gained basic knowledge of the casting process. you will also have gained sufficient bench skills to inspire you and want you to learn more.

All welcome - no skills required.
