The Woodend Neighbourhood House provides many opportunties for training.

We offer pre-accredited training course via Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE).

Only registered adult Community Education providers are able to access government subsidized training places for pre-accredited training to eligible applicants.

In the table below where you see two prices the lower one is the subsidized cost.

    Bookkeeping for Small Business

    Are you interested in gaining skills for employment in financial administration?

    This course provides an overview of Financial Services training package Cert III (Accounts Clerical) components to provide understanding of WHY and WHAT is required by business.

    Includes: Customer relations & working in a team, records management & privacy, clerical duties, banking, budgeting & bookkeeping.

    Designed for people interested in work in this field. Pre-requisites:  Basic computer, English and maths skills. 

     

    Computers for Beginners and Scaredy Cats

    Get started with this computer class for beginners.

    Learn basic Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.

    Suitable for work or home users. 

    Includes manual.

     

    Quickbooks 

    Gain proficiency in Quickbooks keeping package.

    This course covers everything from business set up, supplies, invoicing, processing payments and receipts as well as BAS payroll and reporting.

     

    Introduction to Hospitality

    This new course being offered by the Woodend Neighbourhood House allows students to work towards gaining a 'Statement of Modules' completed in Hospitality for competencies they have achieved:

    • provide students with the opportunity to work towards a nationally recognised qualification in Hospitality
    • provide students at neighbourhood house  (Learning Local) with an understanding of Vocational Education and Training, competency based assessment and training packages
    • allow students to explore Hospitality and the Hospitality industry
    • provide students with the opportunity to consolidate and develop their practical Hospitality skills
    • assist students in preparing for further studies or employment in the Hospitality field and
    • provide a pathway for students as part of their Student Pathways Plan.

     

    Cert III in Education - Integration Support

    A Nationally Recognised Certificate that can be useful for gaining work in any school that requires Integration Support for an individual student or small group of students in their classes, who have been assessed as needing additional support for learning. This course takes you through a range of competencies that include legislation and statutory frameworks, approaches to education and disability, effective teaching and learning, identifying student needs and developing appropriate programs and specific skills around assisting with literacy and numeracy development.

     

    Apply First Aid

    Covers the fundamental principles, knowledge and skills to provide emergency care for injuries and illness in the home and workplace.

     Includes workbook and first aid book.
